Vilostudios is an all-in-one anime and manga production company handling everything from writing and design to animation, voice acting, and sound. We’re building a new model for anime production that values creative freedom, fair compensation, and global collaboration.
We’re expanding our freelancer database and are seeking experienced Animation Directors (作画監督 / Sakkan) to help oversee and refine the quality of animation in our upcoming projects.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the animation quality for assigned episodes or sequences.
- Correct key animation (原画修正) to maintain character consistency and visual quality.
- Collaborate with episode directors, key animators, and layout artists to achieve the intended visual direction.
- Provide artistic feedback and technical guidance to the animation team.
- Review animation timing, movement, and expressions for accuracy and impact.
- Communicate effectively within a remote pipeline to meet production deadlines.
Requirements
Strong understanding of Japanese animation pipelines and production flow. Excellent drawing and observation skills with a focus on maintaining consistency. Proficiency in Clip Studio Paint (CSP) for revisions and feedback. Ability to communicate effectively in English or Japanese. Prior experience as a Genga or clean-up artist preferred.
