We’re expanding our freelancer database and are seeking skilled Finishers / Color Artists (仕上げ / Shiage) to join our team for upcoming anime projects.
Responsibilities
- Perform coloring, shading, and final finishing on animation cuts.
- Ensure color consistency across frames and sequences according to the project’s color design and palette.
- Work with Animation Directors (作画監督) and Compositing Artists to maintain the intended tone and mood.
- Conduct line cleanup and layer management to prepare cuts for compositing.
- Deliver finished cuts on schedule while maintaining Vilostudios’ visual quality standards.
Requirements
Experience as a Shiage artist (仕上げ) or similar digital color role in anime production. Strong understanding of color theory, lighting, and digital paint techniques. Proficiency with Clip Studio Paint (CSP), Photoshop, or equivalent tools. Attention to detail and consistency in color application and cleanup. Understanding of the anime production pipeline and teamwork with remote staff. English or Japanese proficiency (either acceptable). Ability to follow color references and project documentation accurately.
